Our drying facility

Force dried wood chip

We have a state-of-the-art biomass wood chip drying and in-line screening facility in Bridgend, South Wales. Our facility uses a custom flow dryer where warm air rises through a moving and ventilated drying bed. The bed gives a pulse effect which ensures the chip is thoroughly and consistently dried. The result is drying performance which is far superior to belt dryers and drying floors.

The pulse effect in particular churns the chip to ensure it dries from all sides with no wet patches. It’s also extremely powerful and efficient, allowing us to dry our chip quicker and to offer a rapid delivery turnaround.

We dry our wood chip to a moisture content of 25% as standard but can easily dry to any specified level.

In-line Screening
We are one of the few biofuel wood chip suppliers in the UK to offer in-line screening. This means as soon as the chip is dried, it moves directly into screening. As part of our high quality control, we do not sell any chip which has not been screened after drying. This is important because screening during the chipping process alone does not allow complete control over fines and oversize. Because our screening process is in-line it is automated and efficient.
